This is a fabulous story! Everyone should read it. Yes, it is true – a doctor’s medical license doesn’t restrict what procedures they may perform. It’s unbelievable…but al the state does is give out a license to practice medicine. But there is only one license, and it doesn’t restrict what procedures the licensee can do. It is up to the public to check out the credentials of their doctor. And with the recession and declining insurance reimbursements in general, more unqualified doctors are dabbling in plastic surgery, trying their hand on unsuspecting patients with procedures that they often have little or no training. What can you do? Be sure your plastic surgeon is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. They should also be members of the American Society of Plastic Surgery and the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery.
