How does the ThermiVa procedure work?

ThermiVa is a noninvasive procedure that uses radiofrequency. The procedure lasts around 30 minutes and utilizes a specialized handheld wand that is inserted into the vagina. There is no anesthetic required for the procedure and is not painful. Some patients report very mild discomfort, but no more than they might experience during a transvaginal ultrasound.

ThermiVa can be easily performed in our offices during a scheduled appointment. During the procedure, one of our medical staff will place the ThermiVa wand inside the vagina and will also pass it over the outer tissue on the labia and vulva. The wand will emit a frequency which will gently heat the tissue stimulate natural collagen production.

Some patients find that they need multiple sessions to have the result needed, but in some cases one treatment is all that is required to rejuvenate and restore tissues both within and outside your intimate area.


What is the recovery like?

Because ThermiVa is not a surgical procedure and it does not involve any incisions or any anesthesia, there is no downtime. This is what sets ThermiVa apart from other more invasive vaginal rejuvenation options. Patients can then resume daily activities directly upon completion of the procedure, without interruption or the need to rest and recover.
