Excess fat in the neck relates as well to the nose. One of the goals of a rhinoplasty is to improve the patient’s profile. Once this view is being analyzed, the role of the fat under the chin must be considered. For some people, even a subtle excess of fat in this region and certainly a true double chin can limit what could otherwise be a "home-run" result from a rhinoplasty. Since the submental liposuction adds little to the recovery of a rhinoplasty, many patients with excess neck fat will decide to do it together with their rhinoplasty.
