This last August I was pleasantly inundated with teachers wanting surgery before school goes back. It is always fun talking with them about how much time they need off. Kindergarten teachers are so busy chasing kids, they may need more time than a sixth grade teacher, whose children – hopefully –require less activity on their part. The one thing that surprised me is how many people came in at the last minute this year, forcing us to work long days to get them their surgery in time to recover before school. If you are a teacher, do what you teach your students: plan ahead!
