The upper and lower blepharoplasty can remove skin and fat but they cannot change the texture of the skin that remains. If skin improvement is desired then either a chemical or laser peel needs to be done. These peels can also tighten the skin, particularly of the lower eyelid. While it is not safe to laser peel the entire face at the time of a facelift, the laser can be done around the eyes during a facelift. Other patients may choose to have eyelid surgery with a full facial laser instead of a facelift.

Dr. Teitelbaum is experienced at periorbital resurfacing, the official name for a peel around the eyes. There are some lasers that he does not personally use, but if those are what would be best for a patient then he will collaborate with his partner, Dr. Karyn Grossman, who is excellent at using all types of facial-application lasers.
